(McLean, VA) On July 13, The ViennaTysons Regional Chamber of Commerce (VTRCC) honored local business owners and residents who have made significant contributions to chamber and the community. ActionCOACH’s David MacGillivray was one of the people honored and presented with an award – “The Chairman’s Award” for 2011. The awards were given at a dinner at The Mason Inn Conference Center and Hotel at GMU.

“The Chairman’s Award” is given to a member who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to advance the purpose and vision of the VTRCC. The Chairman alone makes the award. It was the most highly regarded honor of the evening. MacGillivray is the founder and teacher of VTRCC’s Leadership Development Program and was instrumental in getting the VTRCC’s Social Media Networking program up and running this year.

VTRCC serves the businesses and citizens of Northern Virginia. Their mission is to provide a strategic link in the Vienna-Tysons region between businesses and the community through community activities, networking, marketing, support, education and political representation.

Each year, the VTRCC presents awards to companies and individuals in the area who exemplify exceptional commitment to the betterment of the goal’s while improving the quality of life for members in the community. The members are asked to identify those candidates deserving of special recognition and the winners are recognized in Vienna’s 65^th Annual Halloween Parade in addition to receiving acknowledgments at the annual Awards Dinner.
