(Birmingham, AL) – There are many traits that make a strong business coach and knowledge and experience are two of the most important. Over a 44 year career, Bruce McMellon has seen it all, including taking a small regional company and making them a world-wide power in their industry. He’s certain to be an asset to businesses as an ActionCOACH.
ActionCOACH is the world’s leader in business and executive coaching. When Brad Sugars, Chairman and Founder, started the company in 1993, the field of business coaching was in its early stages. For the last 11 years, McMellon has been the President and CEO for an engineering and manufacturing company in the metals industry, taking that company from a regional operator to a world recognized powerful force in their industry. But after accomplishing his goals there, he wanted to do more, both for himself and his community.
“I was looking for a way to help other businesses do better, and ActionCOACH fit that model,” McMellon said. “I decided it was time to change my lifestyle, so I stepped down as CEO to allow my hand-picked successor move ahead. I’ve always worked for companies, never owned my own, so becoming an ActionCOACH gives me the opportunity to help people find balance and profits in their lives while owning my own business.”
McMellon runs his ActionCOACH firm from his office in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, a suburb of Birmingham. His Master Licensee is Bill Dupuy.

When he’s not helping businesses reach their potential, McMellon is a member of Christ Methodist Church, Greystone Country Club and the Birmingham Ski Club. He is also active in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Birmingham Business Alliance, American Foundry Society and the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce.
McMellon began his journey as an ActionCOACH in Las Vegas, Nevada where the ActionCOACH Global Office is located. Here he spent 10 days training with other new business coaches and franchise owners from around the world. They learned the ins and outs of ActionCOACH, how to run a business the ActionCOACH way, branding, systems and techniques, as well as how to apply their knowledge to any business and much more.
